Gungrave Overdose
game: Gungrave Overdose
review | 10/24/04 | Matt James
Gungrave Overdose is madness. It is intense, chaotic, nearly nauseating, madness. I am talking about a game that begins with a seizure warning. Yeah, that's right; this game causes medical problems. And that is just the good parts...

Doom 3
game: Doom 3
review | 08/11/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
An entire generation of games was launched the day that iD released the first shareware versions of Doom back in 1994. Quake, Unreal, Half-Life; they all owe something to the game that started it all (ignoring Wolfenstein 3D, of course). Now, Doom 3 is on the shelves, and maybe the tables have turned. Let Tristan tell you about old games and new graphics. Read our review.

Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors
game: Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors
review | 08/04/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Supersonic Warriors might not be the first Dragon Ball Z game on the market by any means, but it might very well be one of the best. With actual show bits and audio clips, DBZ: Supersonic Warriors is a straightforward button masher for the hardcore fan, and probably not a lot else. Click here to learn more.

Jade Empire
game: Jade Empire
preview | 07/10/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
The wizards at Bioware that brought us Knights of the Old Republic are at it again. Jade Empire is an action RPG set in mythological China, and so far it seems like it has all the right stuff. Like KOTR, Jade Empire looks to offer a strong, story driven RPG experience and a hearty dose of action. Our guy Eric Bodrero got his hands on it at E3 and has good things to say about it. Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior
game: Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior
review | 04/02/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
It's strange to think that a franchise with a long and detailed history would spawn a game that seems largely ignorant of that Warhammer 40k flavor, but that's exactly what happened with Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior. And that's not the worst of it. Absurdly bad physics and poor graphics round out the list of biggest flaws. On the upside, the music doesn't suck“which would be a bigger compliment if there actually were music in the game. Click here for the full review.

Resident Evil: Code: Veronica X
game: Resident Evil: Code: Veronica X
review | 04/02/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Like the zombies it once scared us with, Capcom,'s Resident Evil series just seems to keep shambling forward. It doesn't learn. It doesn't adapt, and it just won't stop no matter what you do to it. Enter Resident Evil Code: Veronica X. While this RE incarnation is new to the Gamecube, it's not new to us. If you missed Code: Veronica on the Dreamcast and the PS2 and can't get enough RE“well, lock and load. But if you need something new, hit the C-stick for a 180 and leave this zombie in the dust. Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown
game: Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown
review | 02/23/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown offers a bit of nostalgia for all fans of Robin Hood, but unfortunately it doesn't offer anything more to warrant your hard earned dollars. Simple gameplay and a been-there-done-that feel plague our would-be hero from start to finish. Click here for the full review.

Those with a hankering for some platformer action should look into Tak and the Power of Juju, especially those who are big on the Nickelodeon scene. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
game: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
review | 01/11/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
I consider Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to be one of the greatest games ever created and one of the most important, intriguing texts of this young millennium. Copious amounts of dialogue conspire into well crafted conversations that carry real consequences in both gameplay and story. The Xbox masterpiece makes its way to the PC, and this one is not to be missed“ just make sure to download the patch. But click here before you do, and read the full review.

Fugitive Hunter
game: Fugitive Hunter
review | 01/11/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Fugitive Hunter: War on Terror, is a terribly crafted FPS by any gameplay standard: horribly bland graphics, lame and choppy gameplay, the list goes on. In short, this swill isn't worth playing if you get it for free. From a rhetorical standpoint, Fugitive Hunter is propaganda of the worst sort, and reeks of McCarthy-era brutality and ignorance. The game is a must miss, but the review is a must read, as Steffan Ralph DelPiano explores the disturbing implications of Fugitive Hunter: War on Terror.
