Blizzard\'s annual gathering, BlizzCon, is happening in Anaheim, CA this weekend. So far announcements include more details about the WoW expansion The Burning Crusade, as well as more info about Starcraft: Ghost multiplayer. In addition, there\'s all sorts of BlizzCon wackiness. Plus, we\'re still hoping to hear more about the rumored Diablo III MMO for Xbox 360. What?! Yeah, that\'s the word on the street, according to the folks who run WoW Guru and affiliated sites. CDV\'s Blitzkrieg 2 is a hardcore grognard\'s dream: RTS gameplay simulations of famous WWII battles. Playing as either an American, Russian or German commander, you make the decisions about where and how to deploy your land, air or sea ordinance. The 3D graphics engine makes for some pretty explosions, and the rag doll physics makes the battle truly brutal. Visceral and complex, Blitzkrieg 2 is a must-play for any WWII buffs or RTS fans.

Aspyr is not one of the biggest publishers, but with some solid games under their belt (Lego Star Wars was a groundbreaking title), they\'ve put out some great experiences. The highly anticipated Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse is an incredible effort. Built on the Halo engine, Stubbs the Zombie features some rock-solid gameplay that is good, wholesome, gory fun for zombie fans. Help Stubbs assemble his shuffling army of the undead and take over the small hamlet of Punchbowl, PA. Check out our full review here.

Hardcore racing sim fans take note: GTR: FIA Racing is an out-of-left-field contender for the racing sim hall of fame. Built on real data from the FIA racing circuit, GTR: FIA Racing features tense simulations with some of the best opponent driver AI we\'ve ever seen in any racing title. It doesn\'t have the catalog of vehicles or the over-the-top graphics beauty of a Gran Turismo or Project Gotham, but this one has plenty of get up and go.

Darwinia is an indy game that really shows how cool indy games can be. Set in a strange computer cyber world, Darwinia takes some of the coolest gameplay and graphics elements we\'ve seen in games and combines them into a really wonderful package that feels sharp, stylish, and is immensely playable. Fans of RTS and tactical squad-based games should definitely check out Darwinia, and anyone who loves that retro computer graphics look will be blown away by Darwinia\'s retro-future visuals. Get the latest version of the demo to appreciate Darwinia in its full glory.

Midway has announced that Earth 2160 will come out for PC on November 8. They have also dropped a handful of new screens on us, as well as the info that a preorder package for Earth 2160 will feature a DVD full of goodies: maps and enhancements for 2160, as well as the full version of Earth 2150, the cult-classic predecessor. That is not a bad package for strategy fans, and so far Earth 2160 looks to be one of the more robust RTS titles set to drop this Fall. Check it out.

We got Chris Martin\'s skinny butt in the ring with WWE Day of Reckoning 2 for the GameCube, and, oddly enough, he came out with a weird afterglow that made him forget about all the bruises and mat burns. Day of Reckoning 2 is pretty much a \"bigger, better, more\" improvement over its predecessor, and veteran in-the-ring game developer, Yuke\'s Media Creations, really brings it with a game good enough to make non-wrestling fans want to play it. Deadites rejoice! THQ is once again providing the campy horror antics that only Bruce Campbell and CO. can provide. At under $20, there is more than enough to satisfy Evil Dead fans, although non-fans might be left wondering what the big deal is. Mario Opera, and quite frankly the musical performances aren\'t bad; in fact, they\'re indicative of some serious musical talent implemented in a sometimes - but not always - cheesy way. Whether or not Mario is the place to show off that talent might be in question, though. Our advice is to not bother with the preview, but instead take a moment to listen to the songs themselves. Our personal favorite? The Lizard Wizard.

After making a stellar appearance at X05, Ubisoft\'s Tom Clancy\'s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter will be sliding back its Xbox 360 release date into the new year. Ubisoft announced today that the new Ghost Recon will release in February 2006. The delay of release date might be a bummer for fans, but Ubisoft claims the delay will not impact their revenue forecasts for the fiscal year. They know they\'ll sell a boatload of these. Ubi dropped a couple new screens on us to keep us satisfied. Check them out here.

BBC World News has reported that Sony will be letting go of 10,000 employees within the next three years, to be completed by 2008. It\'s always good to remember that of the three major console players, Sony is the only one that\'s attempting to recover from a series of massive fiscal disappointments. While it controls the current generation of home consoles with the PS2, Sony\'s stock has dropped nearly 2/3rds of its value in the last five years, and loses or breaks even on nearly every division other than games and movies. Fans that are worried that Nintendo might be the underdog in the next round of console wars might do better to worry about Sony\'s ability to withstand a long-term war.

Earth 2160 is the sequel to the cult hit Earth series, developed by Reality Pump Games. Midway has picked it up, and will publish the title in the US in November for PC. This is more than a traditional real-time strategy game, and with a laundry list of features, Earth 2160 looks to be one for strategy fans to keep an eye on. Check out the latest screens here.

While some of us can\'t wait to get our hands on the official release of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, others can\'t wait to get their hands on the map and quest maker. The PC version of the title will ship with a level editor that allows fans of the series to create their own stories and levels independent of the original storyline, just as Elder Scrolls III did. Bethesda and 2K Games have released screenshots of the upcoming editor, and the shots should be of interest to gamers with a creative streak and a desire to make worlds instead of just play in them.

Bungie has made a clever t-shirt that it is selling to help out victims of Hurricane Katrina. It\'s cool because not only are they donating $15 for every $20 shirt sold directly and immediately to the American Red Cross, but the shirt is actually a clever Halo \"flood\" joke. And it\'s tasteful. Bravo Bungie.
