news | 09/01/05 | Shawn Rider
Lionhead Studios has announced The Movies Online, the online movie-sharing component of their upcoming PC title, The Movies. The Movies lets you be a movie mogul and key figure in the formation of your own private Hollywood. Wow, that would make a twisted Keanau Reeves movie. But we digress... Get the skinny on The Movies\' machinima filesharing service right here.

game: Ubicom StreamEngine
preview | 05/11/05 | Shawn Rider
Ubicom's StreamEngine is a standalone device for network traffic shaping. That means, it's a little box you can plugin to your network so your Bit Torrent Downloads don't interfere with your online gaming. We were lucky to get a little time with an early demo unit, and so far it's looking good. Check it out in this preview.
game: Matrix Online
review | 04/25/05 |
The Matrix Online is based on a series of movies that are renowned for their fast-paced and choreographed fight scenes. Can a massively multiplayer title possibly hope to convey that same intensity? Can a franchise so dependent on the style of its combat make a good showing in a game that pulls the real-time action in favor of a turn-based system? Find out what our man Larson has to say after experiencing TMO in the weeks before and after its launch.
game: Gran Turismo 4
review | 04/21/05 | Chris Martin
The long-awaited sequel to the reigning king of racing simulations is finally here, but is Gran Turismo 4 everything you ever wanted? Refined graphics, updated offerings, and some spiffy tweaks make it appealing, but what about the AI, the lack of some significant licenses, and no online multiplayer support? Check the details for our lowdown.
game: Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade
review | 04/13/05 | Shawn Rider
Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade is a hack-and-slash dungeon crawling RPG that brings classic Diablo-style gameplay to your PSP. It's got great graphics, a deep character development system, and is pretty much a hoot to play with friends. But like so many RPG protagonists, it is as flawed as it is brilliant. Curse the darkness, or get the light right here.
game: Constantine
review | 03/30/05 | Matt James
If somebody catches you in a dark alley and forces you to choose between watching Constantine the movie or playing Constantine the game, pick the flick. It'll be shorter and if there's anything worse than a Keanu Reeves movie, it's a Keanu Reeves game. Although placing the blame on him alone might be a bit harsh...
game: Galaxies Ablaze
review | 03/29/05 | Blaine Krumpe
Galaxies Ablaze is a unique indy game that focuses on deep strategic and tactical gameplay. Hardcore sci-fi grognards and serious RTS fans should check this one out, and it's free, so it's easy to do that. But with the focus placed on gameplay and a serious lack of graphical game feedback, this is not one for the casual fan or anyone looking for pretty pictures.
game: Champions: Return to Arms
review | 03/26/05 | George Holomshek
Top down hack-and-slash games are some of the most consistent in the game industry; if you like the genre, you can pretty much expect to have an equally good time with almost any game. Champions: Return to Arms comes to the stage as the sequel to Champions of Norrath, and finds itself burdened with the typical problems of the field; fun, but with limited depth. Still, with hours of gameplay and varied local, it's worth a look for anyone that can't get enough of smashing barrels and hunting for treasure by killing random wild animals. Read the full review for more details.
game: MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf
review | 02/14/05 | Sarah Wichlacz
MechAssault was one of the standout titles on Xbox Live when it first launched. It paved the way for reliable online multiplayer and loads of content downloads. MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf amps up the multiplayer game and beefs up the single player story mode to boot. It's a great thing.

Click the details link below for Monica's treatment, The Art of Losing.
game: Everquest II
review | 12/14/04 | Eric Bodrero
With quality competition from games like City of Heroes and World of Warcraft, all arriving in the last year to vie for our monthly subscription dollars, the makers of EverQuest have a much tougher battlefield before them than they did five years ago when the series first helped define the genre. How good of an experience does EverQuest II offer? Is it worth your time in a world awash with MMOGs? Make sure you read Eric's review to find out.
game: WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw
review | 12/09/04 | Eric Qualls
WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw is THQ's latest 'rasslin title for the PS2. Some of its most talked about features don't quite live up to the hype, but the gameplay is better than ever and that is what counts. Find out what went right and what went horribly, horribly wrong in our full review.
game: SVC Chaos: SNK vs. Capcom
review | 11/16/04 | Matt James
SNK brings us some 2D online goodness with SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos. Even still, the redundancy of the title, sluggish controls and even more sluggish online play are opponents this little fighter just can't KO. It ain't great; it ain't bad. It's thoroughly mediocre. Check the review for Matt's complete writeup.
