In a horribly misguided stab at limiting gambling in public places, the Greek Government has created a ban on all videogames. That\'s right: Playing games on your PC, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, Game Boy Advance (especially in public) is illegal in Greece. The first couple of internet cafe owners have been arrested already for allowing gaming in their public establishments, and things have gotten more rotten than 4:00 AM at a LAN bash over there. Click here for our coverage.

A word to all of our Greek readers: Fight the power. We have heard from you on occasion, and thanks to your heads-up and some reporting from the BBC World News (their article can be seen here), we can now give the rest of the world the story.
game: Barbarian
review | 09/04/02 | Monica Hafer
Titus gives us Barbarian, an arena based fighter that puts you into a fantasy world in dire need of a good saving. Sound familiar? Barbarian doesn\'t break a lot of new ground, but it does provide a nice distraction for awhile and hints at some good possibilities. Click here.
game: UFC Throwdown
review | 08/25/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Crave Entertainment brings us the latest installment in the UFC series, and fans of the franchise should be pleased with UFC Throwdown. Featuring the same in-depth, strategic fighting system, this is not one of those flashy fighters that zip along at a million miles per hour. This is the thinking feller\'s fighter. Ironic? Click.
game: Shantae
review | 07/26/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Shantae is a sexy little half-genie. She dances in a club for money by night and fights sexy little enemies by day. She is Sequin Land\'s only hope for salvation from the evil (but sexy) Risky Boots\' dastardly plans. It\'s a GBC title, with enhancements for GBA, but still worth a look. Cute and quirky, this game has a DDR-style clone built in and a monkey. What else do you want?
game: Star Fox Adventures
review | 07/01/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
The high-flying, dogfighting, cuddly, fuzzy savior of the galaxy is back, and this time on a planet of dinosaurs. Star Fox Adventures has a steamy and sordid past -- brief fling with the N64, merged with a dinosaur game -- but from what we\'ve seen the finished product looks like it just might work. Lube up that Arwing. Click here.
game: Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter
review | 06/28/02 | Jeremy Kauffman
Another installment in the Starfighter series, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter manages to make some good additions to the franchise but doesn\'t really make this one feel like an entirely new game. Sure, there are cool Force powers and new ships to fly, but it all feels very familiar. Thank goodness for the cooperative story mode. Click.
game: Dark Planet: Battle for Natrolis
review | 06/28/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
It\'s one of the oldest stories we know: Multiple groups of settlers fight amongst themselves to control a newly discovered world, empty except for the natives. Nope, this isn\'t a pre-July 4 history lesson, it\'s the plot of Dark Planet: Battle for Natrolis. This bargain-priced strategy game brings some interesting features to the table, but overall it ends up falling a bit flat. Click here for more.
game: Shinobi
preview | 06/23/02 | Jeremy Kauffman
He kills silently and bounces off walls like loonies in the nuthouse. Nope, it\'s not Tiny Twisted Metal Bumper Cars or Tenchu Stealth Maniacs -- this is even better. Shinobi returns for another slash at the videogame market, and thank goodness. Anyone who has touched the beauty of the classic arcade game knows that a new Shinobi adventure is a very, very good thing. Click here.
game: Hunter: The Reckoning
review | 06/19/02 | Shawn Rider
Interplay has made a major console push this year -- all they showed were console titles at E3. If Hunter: The Reckoning is any example, they have a long way to go before they get the console game really figured out. Hunter is a blast in a lot of ways, but also seriously flawed. Click here for the review.
game: Virtua Fighter 4
review | 06/11/02 | Eric Qualls
Sure, sure, it\'s a couple of months old, but what the hell -- you\'ll like our review better because it has the benefit of time and space. Eric doesn\'t just want to review Virtua Fighter 4, but also to situate it in the broader scheme of fighting games. Also, it took him two months to get anywhere in the game because it\'s so damn hard. But that\'s something other reviewers will hide. Not us. Click here.
game: Freelancer
preview | 06/04/02 | Aaron Stanton
Microsoft will release Freelancer next spring, and thus will begin your virtual career as an intergalactic mercenary. You can haul stuff, fight stuff, and generally have a good old time cruising through space pretending you\'re Han Solo. The action parts are cool, too. Click.
game: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
preview | 05/30/02 | Monica Hafer
All you cheesball TV fans take heart: Buffy the Vampire Slayer will be coming to an Xbox near you this summer. Buffy\'s trademark gymkata style of fighting, all of her cohorts good and evil, and a load of cheesy dialogue juxtaposed with quick action make this one for the fans to clamor about. Details are right over here.
game: Spider-Man: The Movie
review | 05/29/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
And we didn\'t forget about our job as game reviewers. Eric just got done playing Spider-Man: The Movie (the game) and has his write up. On the plus side, you\'ve never felt so much like a newly irradiated, web-slinging crime fighter. On the downside, it isn\'t real. Click here.
