If the slow pacing of FPS titles like Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 put you off, UberSoldier might be able to offer a more mindless and action oriented experience at a budget price. Some players will think it\'s a wonderful excursion from the tedious, and some players will quite reasonably hate it. For the former group, this zombie-filled WWII shooter is worth the $29 that you\'ll put down at your local video game store. It embodies old-school first person shooting, executing the genre tried-and-true without all that complicated crap like an interesting plot.

Doom movie managed to hit #1 in the box office right after its release. Since then, competition from other titles have forced it down the chart, with one magazine reporting a 120% drop less than a week after it\'s release. Don\'t ask me how that\'s possible, except that - if the charts wrap-around to the top of the screen like many old NES games - that would put them way up there at the top. We know a few things about Quake IV: The single-player mode returns and has you fighting among the soldiers fending off the oncoming Strogg onslaught. The game runs on the Doom 3 engine, and it looks amaazing. And by all accounts from this summer\'s QuakeCon 2005, the multiplayer kicks @$$.

Ah,
Doom 3. Lots of hype, very little duck-tape. Invented by the military and named for its waterproof nature, duck-tape is apparently a technology that has been lost in the future. No alternative way to attach a flashlight to a rifle has yet to be found.

Released just eight months after Doom 3, this expansion is not completely without flaws, but is pretty to look at, satisfying to play, and adds some much needed variety to Doom 3. It also addresses your character's original inability to wield a flashlight and a weapon at the same time. You don't get to be any more ambidextrous than last time around, but at one point you'll find yourself with a flashlight stuck to your forehead. It's not quite as ideal a solution as using duck tape to strap the light to your gun, but it's a step in the right direction. Check out the full review for more details.
