Review of Sandio's 3D Game O' Mouse
review | 06/04/07 | Jamie Gergen
While Sandio Technologies promises to revolutionize the way your mouse and game operate together, the learning curve is steep and difficult to overcome. Instead of improving your gaming experience and making you a better player, the 3D Gaming \'O Mouse will instead become an obstacle to overcome, as often as not. While the design works well for RTS camera controls, it falls apart when you move to faster paced titles like First Person Shooters. The inclusion of analog controls on the mouse may very well be a good idea, but not in this iteration, and after some time with the new mouse we simply can\'t recommend it at the $79 price tag.

preview | 03/17/07 | Chris Martin
The Darkness is shaping up to be a must have game for not only fans of the Top Cow comic, but for fans of first person shooters. Blending supernatural elements and gunplay, The Darkness puts you in the shoes of Jackie Estacado, our resident anti-hero, as he seeks revenge on his father\'s murderer. The newest video is a montage of some new and old footage, and shows off the darkling powers and what makes them a force to be reckoned with.

WolfKing Warrior Review
review | 08/08/06 | Tristan Mayshark
Since Half-Life made \"WSAD\" input the standard for all first person shooters, numerous efforts have been made to make a keyboard aimed at gamers, and most have failed miserably. The WolfKing Warrior doesn\'t so much fall flat on its face, as it does smash its wolfy snout right into hard pavement.

The Ongoing Conflict: Ubisoft's Haze
game: Haze
preview | 05/19/06 | Blaine Krumpe
Ubisoft brings us another military-themed First Person Shooter, Haze, which there obviously aren\'t nearly enoug of these days... But Haze feels a bit different, too. Charged with some serious political satire, Haze gets you all tied up with Mantel Global\'s corporate mercenaries in the ongoing war for democracy. Expect plenty of drugged-up supersoldiers and some tricky ethical decisions, two things we\'d like to see a lot more of in the FPS genre. Get Blaine\'s full preview here.

UberSoldier! Review
game: UberSoldier
review | 05/01/06 | Tristan Mayshark
If the slow pacing of FPS titles like Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 put you off, UberSoldier might be able to offer a more mindless and action oriented experience at a budget price. Some players will think it\'s a wonderful excursion from the tedious, and some players will quite reasonably hate it. For the former group, this zombie-filled WWII shooter is worth the $29 that you\'ll put down at your local video game store. It embodies old-school first person shooting, executing the genre tried-and-true without all that complicated crap like an interesting plot.

King Kong Review
game: Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie
review | 11/27/05 | Aaron Stanton
As well received as Perfect Dark and Call of Duty 2 have been, it\'s possible that King Kong might be the best first person shooter available on the Xbox 360, if you\'re into the fantastic. With a launch line-up that includes at least 7 titles that you\'ll wanna play, the 360 isn\'t lacking for quality games, but King Kong manages to combine artistic direction and solid gameplay into a single-player experience that you simply won\'t find elsewhere.

Serious Sam II Screenshots
game: Serious Sam II
news | 09/06/05 | Aaron Stanton
It\'s only about a month until Serious Sam II appears on the scene, and the screens are looking sweet. Serious Sam II is the second in a series of wacky first person shooters made famous by its complete disregard for any sense of reality. As Sam Stone, you\'ll face hundreds of enemies per level, fire thousands of bullets, and battle everything from stereotypical gothic chicks to evil stockbrokers. Unlike many recent FPS titles, which are dark, gloomy, and slow paced, Serious Sam II promises to keep things light and happy... well... funny, at least.

Starship Troopers
game: Starship Troopers
preview | 06/11/05 | Blaine Krumpe
The ideas behind the RTS Starship Troopers might have been better suited to the First Person Shooter genre and game developer Strangelite seems to have understood this. Starship Troopers should be hitting store shelves in fall, but we've got a first hand preview of this brand new shooter.
