game: Sega Rally Revo
news | 09/17/07 | Chris Martin
So, gamesfirst.com/?id=1550\"" onClick="window.open( this.href, '_self' ); return false;" title="">in case you missed it, I\'m pretty stoked about SEGA Rally Revo for Xbox 360. Some early reviews are in: IGN UK gave it 8.8/10 and EuroGamer gave it a 9/10. Knowing this makes me ache for it more. If you\'re thinking about picking up SEGA Rally Revo, it\'s officially out today (09/17/07) in the UK--those in the US will have to wait until October 9th. And if you just want to check it out first, the Demo has just hit Xbox Live. At over half a gig, it\'s one of the smaller demos out there, but we\'ll let the gameplay speak for itself.

editorial | 08/23/07 | Chris Martin
It\'s officially unofficial according to Capcom reps. But you know we\'ll probably see a Dead Rising sequel some time in the near future. gamesfirst.com/index.php?id=1419\"" onClick="window.open( this.href, '_self' ); return false;" title="">Dead Rising sold over a million copies worldwide and became one of the staple buys for adopters of the Xbox 360. It was an excellent survival horror game with some great humor. The sandbox environment, multiple endings, and various side quests gave it longevity. Basically, we know it\'s coming on one platform or another. Not if but when it gets announced, here are the top 20 features we would like to see in the sequel.

We loved Viva Pinata so much, our resident creative writer Chris decided to do some neato lyric essay work about it. But for an interesting take on the Viva Pinata universe, from a second person perspective no less, come on in. WARNING: language.

GF editor Aaron Stanton has been trying to win a PS3 for charity from KISSFM 103.3. we\'re sad to say he didn\'t make it. But there\'s still a chance. One of the other contestants, Hollan, is considering donating the PS3 to Child\'s Play if he wins. So, if you want to help Penny Arcade auction off a PS3 that\'s been signed with personal messages by the developers of Microsoft (details on that in the article) all in the name of raising money for sick children in hospitals, you\'ve got to read this. We need to band together as gamers and make sure that Hollan wins this competition. We need him to win by a landslide. Go here and vote for Hollan. Response and Rebuttal Part 1: What We Missed in Videogame Violence Studies
editorial | 09/11/06 | Chris Martin
Sometimes we recieve emails that lead to internal debates. Sometimes, those debates rage out of control; sometimes they become enlightening. After posting gamesfirst.com/?id=1406\"" onClick="window.open( this.href, '_self' ); return false;" title="">\"Videogame Violence Causes Subdued Reactions\" we recieved feedback, some positive, some negative. But there was one response that needed to be shared with the gaming community because its outcome was more enlightening and honest than we had anticipated.

Happy 4th of July From GamesFirst.com
editorial | 07/04/06 | Aaron Stanton
Web traffic drops during the summer as gaming news runs dry and warm weather draws people away from their monitors. Fourth of July often represents the summer\'s ultimate low in traffic, and pretty much everyone in the gaming industry takes the day off. If you haven\'t had a chance to spend some time outside in the beautiful weather, now is the perfect day to step outside into the cooling evening, put away the games for a moment, and take in a part of life that doesn\'t run on electricity. Tomorrow we can return to the flash of modern life, but tonight and maybe tomorrow we here at GamesFirst are going to stretch out, light some fireworks, and enjoy a good birthday. We hope you consider doing the same. Happy Fourth of July, everyone.

Twoplayer Comic: Forum Boys
comic | 03/24/06 | Aaron Stanton
After nearly a year, Twoplayer Comic\'s original artist is leaving GamesFirst and moving on to other projects. Noah Kroese\'s distinctive artwork and sense of humor have helped define TP comics as it exists today, and we wish him the best. Twoplayer will certainly feel his loss. Today\'s TP comic will be the last with Noah at the artistic reins, and the beginning of our search for an artist worthy of taking his place. Check out the final Twoplayer Comic by Noah Kroese, named after one of the Internet\'s most annoying aspects: Forum Boys. Best of luck, Noah.

Two Player Comic: Tingle's Secret Profession
comic | 02/21/06 | Aaron Stanton
Zelda\'s Tingle is probably one of the most unusual and distinctive characters in video game history. The short, stocky little guy in green tights can be more than annoying; he can be downright creepy at times. Yet does Tingle have a secret identity? When he\'s not out bothering Link, maybe he\'s a costume designer for Dead or Alive. You have to admit, the similarities are there. Skin tight clothes. Matching ears. Similar creep factor. TP Comic: FingerBang
comic | 12/27/05 | Aaron Stanton
When half your comic team disappears overseas for the holidays, it\'s hard to keep things running smoothly at a game comic. That doesn\'t explain all of TP Comics recent venture into the bizarrely inconsistent, but it explains a good portion of it. Now that the Xbox 360 is resting next to piles of used wrapping paper and a Christmas tree suffering from dehydration, it\'s easier to find the time to make fun of things. Hopefully that means we\'ll get back into a pattern again here after the new year. Take a look at this week\'s TwoPlayer comic, gamesfirst.com/index.php?thisComic=38\"" onClick="window.open( this.href, '_self' ); return false;" title="">FingerBang, the \"banned\" ad commercial.

Twoplayer Comic: Did You Say Something?
comic | 11/15/05 | Aaron Stanton
Sometimes articles rub people the wrong way. Sometimes somebody criticises a beloved video game, or says the wrong thing in an editorial about Nintendo. Sometimes, though, they just mention the fact that they\'re a girl that happens to play games. This week\'s twoplayer comic is partially in response to the reader reaction we got from an article we published last week called, gamesfirst.com/index.php?id=958\"" onClick="window.open( this.href, '_self' ); return false;" title="">A Look Behind Alice: A Woman\'s Reason for Gaming. Twoplayer Comic: My Eyes! Arrrrrgh...
game: Doom 3
comic | 11/07/05 | Aaron Stanton
The Doom movie managed to hit #1 in the box office right after its release. Since then, competition from other titles have forced it down the chart, with one magazine reporting a 120% drop less than a week after it\'s release. Don\'t ask me how that\'s possible, except that - if the charts wrap-around to the top of the screen like many old NES games - that would put them way up there at the top. Possibly one of the greatest money makers of all time. Who knows? Take a look at this week\'s twoplayer comic (gamesfirst.com/index.php?thisComic=35\"" onClick="window.open( this.href, '_self' ); return false;" title="">Part I and gamesfirst.com/index.php?thisComic=36\"" onClick="window.open( this.href, '_self' ); return false;" title="">Part II) to see which Doom-isms made a safe transition from the game to the movie.

Twoplayer Comic: Modest Proposal Gone Wrong
game: PSP
comic | 10/24/05 | Aaron Stanton
Jack Thompson\'s letter offering to donate $10,000 may have been satirical, but not nearly satirical enough. A number of games designed to meet his criteria have sprung up across the Internet, evidently eager to top the lawyer\'s demand. It\'s a good thing that Jonathan Swift\'s proposal, the one which Thompson compares his own letter to, was a bit more obvious. Crazy things could have happened.
