While we here in Seattle get to watch the Mariners crumble in what was a pretty decent year, we also get front page Microsoft news, regularly. Today, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer
reported that the European Court of First Instance, in a move upholding key elements of the March 2004 European Commission Decision, declared the
American company responsible for misusing it\'s Windows monopoly. Specifically, the company packages Windows Media Player with their Windows software,
a la trojan horse, allowing market dominance of the software. Microsoft to EU court: \"the decision on the Media Player opens a dangerous precedent for other companies and sectors. Airbus should start worrying about adding new features to their planes.\"

Ami and Yumi are back in Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: The Genie and the Amp, fresh from D3 Publisher, whose lineup this year includes several noteworthy titles. For the younger set, The Genie and the Amp is pretty much right on: A cool franchise is done justice with good production and solid game design. Nintendo has (sort of) spilled the beans about the Wii price and their system launch plans in a recent fiscal year 2006 projection report. Nintendo has stated that the Wii system will not exceed $250 in America, or ?25,000 in Japan. They expect to ship six million units for the launch window, and a total of 17 million units during the first year of the Wii\'s life. These numbers are worldwide, and Nintendo has committed to a worldwide simultaneous launch. Get more details in our report.

Enchanted Arms is one of the few Japanese-developed games coming to American Xbox 360s this year. Already out in the JP, we know it\'s a solid RPG with traditional elements and sparkly graphics. But can it offer up that something special that Xbox owners crave? Our man, Matt James, took on the great golems of Enchanted Arms, and he did fare well (although not so well at getting a chuckle out of those stoic From Software reps). Shadowgrounds is an independently developed European title that comes to North America thanks to Meridian 4, who has also recently announced that Shadowgrounds will be carried on Valve\'s popular Steam service. Featuring frantic top-down shooter action with excellent lighting and plenty of weapons upgrades, Shadowgrounds isn\'t a complicated game, it\'s just fun. Generation of Chaos is an anime-styled tactical RPG that features, as its main selling point, massive battles with upwards of 30 combatants on each side. It sounds really cool, and tactical RPGs (think FF Tactics or Arc the Lad) can be so much fun. Unfortunately, Generaton of Chaos features so many obscure menus that it ends up being about as much fun as Microsoft Word. Be sure to check out Matt\'s review before venturing into the chaos.

Apsyr\'s Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars seeks to finally become a staple of the North American PC game library. Spellforce 2 is a hybrid real-time strategy and role-playing game that features massive battles involving both land and air-based fantasy combat. Featuring a wacky adventure story and gameplay, not unlike the Leisure Suit Larry series, Lula 3D put gamers in the role of Lula, a porn director who must solve the mystery of her missing stars. Follow Lula on a trail of clues that will have her traversing America in search of porn stars and lewd humor. George is on top of this one, so to speak, and offers up this complete preview.
