— D-Link, Sierra™, and VitalStream today jointly announced that
they will be running a free to the public Tribes 2 Labor Day Double
Elimination Arena Tournament on Sunday September 2nd. Individuals who
sign up for the tournament (games.dlink.com) will be randomly assigned
to one of four servers. Each Gamer will then fight their way towards
the prize round, where they can receive Tribes 2 Summer Games 2001
T-Shirts.
"This is our last week for the Summer Games
2001 Tournament, where we will be crowning a Champion of
Champions," said Bradley Morse, Vice President of Marketing for
D-Link. "We thought that adding this Labor Day Tournament would
add to the event and be a fun way to end the summer."
 This Labor Day event is not to determine an
individual champion but to deliver a fun event with prizes and end the
summer on a high note. Sign ups are free and currently open, at the
D-Link Gamers Haven, games.dlink.com, which is powered by VitalStream.
The Gamers Haven is also where all of the team rosters and tournament
results will be posted. This gives individuals a place to find out
which team they are on and what their standing is in the tournament
and who they will face next.
The Tribes 2 Labor Day Arena Tournament will take
place on Sunday September 2nd. The first matches will be held online
at 2:00pm. The tournament will be played with an arena style rule set
and run on D-Link/VitalStream servers with VitalStream providing
high-speed bandwidth for the best gaming experience.
