A legendary disappointment around these parts, Baldur\'s Gate: Dark Alliance for the Xbox packs the same gorgeous visuals and great gameplay. What\'s wrong with that? Nothing, except the fact that it\'s over almost before it\'s begun and the replay value is pretty much zip.

Interplay brings us the last RPG to use the Infinity engine. A bit of silence is in order. OK, now we can make a whole lot of noise about Icewind Dale II. Utilizing the Third Edition AD&D rules set, it isn\'t the prettiest RPG out there, but it is one of the biggest and best. Click here.

The Lord of the Rings franchise has been fractured -- games are coming out from both Sierra and EA. EA has the movie license, and that will make all the difference. So far The Two Towers looks amazing, what with the hordes of orcs to cut down and the incredible interplay of film footage and game graphics. Click here to be amazed.
