game: Space Empires V
review | 01/04/07 | George Holomshek
Space Empires V doesn\'t exactly revolutionize the world of 4X gaming, but it does offer a multitude of micromanagement options, if that\'s your thing. The space empire building title lets you explore the universe and meet strange races with one of the most extensive diplomacy systems we\'ve ever seen, but is plagued with bugs that often get in the way. If you like micromanaging politics and investigating branching technology trees, Space Empires V might be for you, but only if you can survive the learning curve and a lot of frustration.
game: City Life
review | 07/15/06 | George Holomshek
CDV and developer Monte Cristo bring us City Life, a new take on the city sim with City Life. As Mr. Wright moves on to managing the galaxy, what are we to do as mere mortals who are probably reaching a bit too far to even imagine ourselves as \"mayoral material?\" The big new hook is a social awareness aspect that makes it necessary to manage neighborhoods and social class to spice up your urban planning fantasies. If you\'re in the mood for another stab at building your metropolis, check out George\'s review here.
preview | 05/11/06 | Chris Martin
It was quite a day at the Nintendo booth at E3 today. With 27 titles, along with the Wii itself to be seen inside the fortress of a booth Nintendo had built, demand was high and lines were long. How long, you ask? Try a line of people with enough manpower that, if they wanted to, could have marched across the hall and held most of the Sony booth hostage. And while this mass of humanity deterred most of the GamesFirst! crew until tomorrow, our man Chris decided to brave the storm. Not only did he manage to come back alive, he even brought back an amusing story and some impressions of Mario\'s latest adventure.
game: Mass Effect
news | 10/05/05 | Shawn Rider
Bioware and Microsoft have teamed up once again for another Xbox 360 exclusive title: Mass Effect. Mass Effect is a sci-fi action RPG in which you play the first human Specter -- an elite soldier sworn to defend the galaxy. As one might expect, a rogue agent begins stirring up trouble for the peaceful denizens of the galaxy, and it\'s up to you and your elite team of defenders to solve the problem. And as any Bioware fan might expect, you will eventually discover the truth about a much greater threat to the galaxy. Is it just us or does this sound a lot like SW: KOTOR?
game: E3 2005: Star Wars Battlefront II
preview | 05/23/05 | Blaine Krumpe
The original Star Wars: Battlefront allowed players to experience their favorite Star Wars locations from the eyelevel of the troops on the ground. Whether you played on the side of light or the side of dark didn't matter; you were sure to enjoy using the weapons of Star Wars to battle it out in a galaxy far, far away. LucasArts was kind enough to take us behind closed doors down at E3 2005 and show us the goodies of the next game in the franchise, cleverly named Star Wars: Battlefront II. What are they doing to make a great game better? How about some space battles? Read Blaine's preview for more details on what you can expect.
game: Star Fox Adventures
review | 07/01/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
The high-flying, dogfighting, cuddly, fuzzy savior of the galaxy is back, and this time on a planet of dinosaurs. Star Fox Adventures has a steamy and sordid past -- brief fling with the N64, merged with a dinosaur game -- but from what we\'ve seen the finished product looks like it just might work. Lube up that Arwing. Click here.
game: O.R.B.
editorial | 05/28/02 | Aaron Stanton
Strategy First will bring us a potentially revolutionary deep space RTS this fall. O.R.B. puts you in control of huge space armadas and interstellar action has never been so accurately reproduced. Accurate physics offer new tactics to exploit and the fully 3D galaxy is just beautiful. Click here for more.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... arcade machines cost you a quarter. Now, the only games you can find at that stunning price are Ms. Pacman and Asteroids (at least here at the Seattle Gameworks). Needless to say, if you want to jump into the cockpit of an X-wing fighter or go one-on-one with Law in Tekken 3 it\'s going to cost you.
