Enhanced Memory Systems Demonstrates Speed ‘Freaked’ Game Machine at E3
“Freaked’’ Game Machine Features PC133 HSDRAM and AMD Athlon Processor for the World’s Fastest Gaming Experience.
Enhanced Memory Systems, a subsidiary of Ramtron International Corporation (Nasdaq:RMTR
- news), today announced
that it will demonstrate the world’s fastest gaming PC at Electronic
Entertainment Expo (E3), the premier gaming industry tradeshow, from May
11-13. The
Freaked'' Game Machine will be on display at E3 in the Los Angeles Convention Center, Kentia Hall, booth number 7256. The Game Machine demonstrates the ultimate gaming technology and performance currently possible using a 900 MHz Athlon(TM) processorfreaked’’ to 968 MHz, ASUSTek K7-V motherboard, and the ASUSTek DDR GeForce 256 graphics adapter. Enhanced Memory Systems low latency PC133 high speed DRAM (HSDRAM) main memory isfreaked'' to 144 MHz to create the world's fastest PC gaming experience. E3 attendees are encouraged to visit the Enhanced Memory Systems booth at E3 to register to win theFreaked’’ Game Machine or InternetCash(TM) prizes.
“Our ‘Freaked’ Game Machine, using PC133 HSDRAM main memory, beats the best Quake 3 and Expendable 3-D gaming benchmarks demonstrated using Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM and Dual Channel RDRAM,’’ said David Bondurant, vice president of marketing and applications at Enhanced Memory Systems. ``The combination of HSDRAM, AMD Athlon processor, ASUSTek motherboard & graphics adapter deliver the best gaming experience.’’
The Enhanced Memory Systems “Freaked’’ Game Machine has been tested and demonstrated to provide optimal gaming performance. Information on how to duplicate the ``Freaked’’ Game machine with PC133 HSDRAM memory will be available following the show at the Enhanced Memory Systems' e-commerce Web site, www.pc133memory.com.
HSDRAM is a higher performance version of the industry standard SDRAM. HSDRAM provides lower latency and faster clock access times than the industry standard PC133 memory, providing better stability and better performance in real systems.
Enhanced Memory Systems is a leading specialty DRAM company. Enhanced Memory began shipping its first low-latency EDRAM products in 1992. In November 1996, Enhanced Memory Systems announced its new 133-MHz enhanced synchronous DRAM (ESDRAM). The ESDRAM became an official JEDEC SDRAM Superset standard and was sampled in 1998. The PC133 HSDRAM products continue the Enhanced Memory Systems tradition of supplying the highest-performance, plug-compatible memory upgrade products.
Enhanced Memory Systems is a fabless DRAM company with manufacturing agreements with top semiconductor companies, including Infineon Technologies, who recently purchased 20% of EMS in exchange for its advanced memory technology and wafer capacity. EMS is pursuing other strategic partnerships to advance its EDRAM, ESDRAM, and HSDRAM technology in the marketplace.
The Enhanced Memory Systems products serve the DRAM, specialty DRAM and fast SRAM markets, which are expected to grow to more than $47 billion by the year 2001, according to Semico, a leading semiconductor market research firm.
