Booth Babes: A Short Documentary directed by Sarah Wichlacz

At E3 2001, GamesFirst! produced its first and only piece of video journalism — a short documentary exploring the phenomenon of booth babes at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Directed by Sarah Wichlacz, this seven-minute film pokes, prods, and examines the women hired to stand next to video games.

At this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, we just couldn’t stand it anymore. In years past we’ve taken photos of booth babes, and even posed with them a couple of times, but never before have we poked, prodded, and examined them as much as this. Our idea going in: Discover the true nature of the booth babe. Why are they here? Where do they come from? What do they do? And just because we’re nice folks, we’ve caught it all on film and created this, our first bit of video journalism: Booth Babes: A Short Documentary.
