At a recent appearance in front of Japan\'s Digital Interactive Entertainment Conference, famed Nintendo game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto, stunned the audience with a single comment about the upcoming Nintendo Revolution: \"There\'s another secret.\" Miyamoto offered no further explanation, but the last secret Nintendo had kept from us was the Revolution\'s controller, and that was undoubtedly huge news. So what else could Nintendo have up their sleeve? George gathers the scant details and tries to put together some theories right here.

game: Nintendo Revolution
news | 11/28/05 | Shawn Rider
The Revolution is shaping up to be a phenomenal console, what with built-in emulation for every previous Nintendo console, downloadable retro games, online gaming, and a unique controller that has spawned huge debates about the future of gaming. Kotaku has gotten the early word on Nintendo\'s E3 Press Conference, which will be held May 9, 2006. The letter from Nintendo refers to \"our next home console, code-named Revolution,\" which has us wondering if we won\'t hear about the long-rumored console name-change. In addition, Kotaku points us to an article on Revolution Report about a patent application that defines an interface not unlike the Xbox Dashboard. Click on over and get the advanced word. We\'ll follow all of these assertions as details unfold.

In a great analysis of Microsoft\'s latest announcements about Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360, Joystiq\'s Vladimir Cole de
tails how Xbox Live Arcade is a growing threat to the traditional retail chain. And that\'s not necessarily a bad thing for game publishers: \"Sure, the games on offer right now are non-threatening casual games, but it's only a matter of time until gamers are downloading entire triple-A titles and not just demos of them. With more and more retailers moving towards the sale of used games, first- and third-party publishers are going to push the direct-to-consumer channel even harder.\" Check out

game: Perfect Dark Zero
news | 09/30/05 | Shawn Rider
Perfect Dark Zero has so far been one of the most enigmatic Xbox 360 launch titles. After showing us glimpses of 50 player multiplayer on their MTV Xbox 360 unveiling, we expected to see PDZ at E3. But it wasn\'t there. It was at Tokyo Game Show, and we recently posted some links to some shakey-cam footage of PDZ gameplay which has us all debating the relative greatness potential for the game. Details are still slow to come out about Perfect Dark Zero, but we have one screen and an MP3 of one of the music tracks from the game to pass on.

With few details to go on, George outlines some of the potential of the new controller, as well as some of our reservations (such as, what is the legal limit to the number of \"dongle\" jokes we can make in a single article?). Check out his impressions of the Revolution controller in this editorial.

review | 08/27/05 | Gary Wong
The popular Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition makes its way to the PSP. Sony\'s little handheld has been starved for some high octane games, so DUB Edition has a lot riding on it. Does its engine stall at the starting line or does it finish at the top? Check Gary\'s review for the details.
game: Alan Wake

Alan Wake was one of the standout games of E3 2005 (not to mention the dreamiest of male gaming characters). Featuring a psychological thriller storyline and amazing night/day and physics effects, this is a game unlike most others. Unfortunately, Remedy does not even have a publisher for this title. Our gal, Monica, has the details here.

game: E3 2005: Star Wars Battlefront II
preview | 05/23/05 | Blaine Krumpe

Whether you played on the side of light or the side of dark didn't matter; you were sure to enjoy using the weapons of Star Wars to battle it out in a galaxy far, far away. LucasArts was kind enough to take us behind closed doors down at E3 2005 and show us the goodies of the next game in the franchise, cleverly named Star Wars: Battlefront II. What are they doing to make a great game better? How about some space battles? Read Blaine's preview for more details on what you can expect.
